The Impossible Project

The Impossible Project is a wonderful company attempting to do a very difficult task. They are attempting to re-create Polaroid film. When Polaroid basically "went out of business" The Impossible Project stepped in and began the process from scratch of remaking an instant film product. The task is much more difficult than it sounds. Many of the chemicals used in Polaroid films are not legal to use anymore. The Impossible Project has made excellent progress and I look forward to future products from them.

The photo included with this entry was taken at the World's Fair Globe in Queens New York. The Impossible Project film is very temperature sensitive and the day this photograph was taken it was only 30F (-1C) hence the purple/pink hues. Hey, I'm still experimenting with my first few packs of The Impossible Project film.

The film used for this photograph was PX 70 Color Shade FF.

Fujifilm makes instant film

Fujifilm makes instant film. There are a few different varieties. The photo with this blog post is taken on Fuji Instax Film - Wide Picture format. This film can only be used with the Fujifilm Instax 210 Instant Film Camera.

Polaroid - We Miss U :(

How could a blog about "instant photography" not begin without the 1st "real" post being about Polaroid. I miss the OLD Polaroid, you miss the old Polaroid. We all miss it. I currently have my last pack of authentic Polaroid 600 film in my Polaroid OneStep camera. The expiration date of this particular pack was July 2009. Sadly, I only have 3 more shot out of the 10 remaining.

Living Instantly

Living Instantly is a blog about instant photography. Digital photography is the mainstream but instant photography still has its place - and is currently experiencing a resurgence. Polaroid cameras, Fujifilm instant film and cameras, film from The Impossible Project and other options help to keep the instant photography fire burning. I am currently in the process of collecting a variety of instant cameras and using and experimenting with them. Stay tuned!!!
